Jean-Baptiste Lesourd is Professor of Financial and Economic Information (Université de la Méditerranée, School of Journalism and Communication, Marseille, France). He is currently affiliated for his research with the Research Group on Media, Information and Communication (MédiaSic). He holds a degree in Engineering and a Doctorate in Economics. His previous position was with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (Groupe de Recherche en Economie Quantitative d’Aix-Marseille), where he was a Research Professor in Economics and Management. He is currently collaborating with several universities worldwide: University of Geneva (School of Business), University of Neuchâtel (Department of Economics) in Switzerland, and University of Western Australia (School of Economics and Commerce).

 

He is interested in economic and financial information, in the economics of media, and in the ethics of financial communication. He is also an expert on international commodity markets, especially in terms of information-related problems. He has published a number of books and of refereed papers in these fields.
